How CloudClerks collects, uses, and protects your information.

CloudClerks ("CloudClerks," "we," "us," or "our") provides on-demand cloud compute infrastructure. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit cloudclerks.example, deploy or manage a cloud VM, apply to our affiliate program, or otherwise interact with us, and how we use, share, and protect that information.

By using our site or services, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. If you don't agree, please don't use CloudClerks.

Information We Collect

We collect information in three general ways: information you give us directly, information collected automatically, and information from third parties.

Information you provide

  • Account details: name, email address, billing address, and password when you create an account.
  • Payment information: processed by our payment provider - CloudClerks does not store full card numbers on our own servers.
  • Affiliate applications: name, address, website URL, and marketing activity type submitted through our Affiliate Program application.
  • Support requests: anything you send us via a support ticket, email, or contact form.

Information collected automatically

  • Log data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps when you use our site or API.
  • Usage data: how you configure and use your cloud VMs - instance sizes, regions, boot times, and resource consumption - used for billing and reliability.
  • Cookies and similar technologies, described in more detail below.

Information from third parties

If you apply to our affiliate program through a referral or tracking link, we may receive click and conversion data from our affiliate tracking provider tied to your referral code.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provision, operate, and bill for cloud VM instances;
  • Authenticate account access and secure our infrastructure;
  • Calculate and pay affiliate commissions;
  • Respond to support requests and communicate service updates;
  • Monitor for abuse, fraud, and violations of our Terms and Conditions; and
  • Improve our product based on aggregate usage patterns.

We do not sell your personal information to data brokers or advertisers.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

CloudClerks uses a small number of cookies on our marketing site and affiliate program page:

  • Essential cookies - keep you signed in and remember basic preferences.
  • Affiliate tracking cookies - a 90-day cookie records which affiliate referred a visitor, so commissions are credited correctly.
  • Analytics cookies - help us understand aggregate traffic to the site so we can improve it.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the site, like staying logged in, from working correctly.

How We Share Information

We share information only where necessary to run CloudClerks:

  • With infrastructure and payment vendors who process data on our behalf, under contract, and only for that purpose.
  • With our affiliate tracking provider, to attribute referrals and calculate payouts.
  • When required by law, such as in response to a valid subpoena or court order.
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this Policy would continue to apply to your information.

Data Retention

We retain account and billing information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to meet tax, accounting, and legal obligations. Server and network logs are typically retained for 90 days. Affiliate application data is retained for the duration of the affiliate relationship plus the time needed to resolve any pending payouts.

Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below - we'll respond within a reasonable timeframe.

Security

We use industry-standard safeguards - encryption in transit, access controls, and network monitoring - to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we work to continually improve our practices.

Children's Privacy

CloudClerks is not directed at anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll remove it.

International Data Transfers

CloudClerks operates infrastructure in multiple regions. Depending on where you're located, your information may be transferred to and processed in a country other than your own, which may have different data protection laws. Where required, we put appropriate safeguards in place for these transfers.
